Hi there and welcome to my photoblog! My name is Rutger Blom and I’m 32 years old. I’m from The Netherlands and living in Sweden. I’m married and have a little daughter. I’m working with IT.
Photographing for me started in December 2007 when I bought my first DSLR: the Canon EOS 400D. My daughter was just born and I felt that my Fujifilm Finepix just wasn’t good enough to capture the most precious thing in my life. The competent 400D did a much better job.
As time went on I started to experiment with my camera, bought some more lenses and started to take photos of all kinds of motifs. In July 2009 I bought my second and current DSLR: the Canon EOS 5D Mk II.
I’m trying to spend as much time as possible photographing. Whenever I get the chance I’m going on a photo walk. I also try to have my camera with me as much as I can.
Since December 2008 I’m the happy owner of an Apple iPhone 3G. Although the camera in the iPhone 3G is really lousy I do use it for mobile photo blogging. It’s a nice and convenient way to document things in my daily life. You can see my iPhone photos on my Mobile blog.
My favorite online photo service is Flickr. I’ve been a member there since September 2007 and I’m uploading every single photo to my photostream. I’m also proud to be a group administrator for Svenska Amatörfotografer. The most active Swedish group on Flickr.
In June 2009 I purchased a SmugMug account. I think SmugMug offers a very elegant way to present your photos on the Internet. Please have a look.
Besides this site, Flickr and SmugMug you can see my photos at my Facebook Page, Today’s Photo and Virb.
